About The Position

This position is available for full-time and part-time shifts. The Dietary Cook is responsible for ensuring that assigned meals are palatable and prepared in an orderly, timely manner, following established procedures and requirements as directed by a Supervisor. All listed job functions are considered essential.

Requirements

• Must possess ability to learn and follow directions.
• Possess the ability to judge quality of food prepared and aesthetic presentation
• Capable and willing to decipher and follow guidelines provided for preparation and service of meals.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for prompt and efficient organizing, preparing and serving meals as directed.
• Responsible for quality and quantity of food prepared, for the accuracy of menus and diets as served and for honoring resident’s known likes, dislikes and food preferences.
• Able to organize tasks to perform with accuracy, in a safe manner and with concern for equipment and environment.
• Informs Supervisor of equipment and dietary supply needs.
• Participates in in-service and continuing education to remain current of requirements.
