Dietary Aide (Skilled Nursing Facility)
About The Position
This full-time position assists the cook and other Aides in the preparation, serving, and clean-up of meals in an orderly, timely manner, using established procedures as directed by a Supervisor. The role involves practicing good sanitation in handling food and equipment, performing tasks with accuracy, assisting in tray service and dish handling, and performing daily and scheduled cleaning duties. The employee is expected to organize work efficiently, attend in-service meetings, participate in continuing education, and maintain the confidential nature of residents and the work environment.
Requirements
- Must possess ability to learn and follow directions
- Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and in compliance with infection control techniques and safety practices
- Willing and capable of learning new methods
- Supportive of Dietary program and capable of working as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Practice good sanitation in handling food and equipment through knowledge and application of infection control techniques and standards
- Perform tasks with accuracy and in a manner demonstrating care for equipment and environment
- Assist in tray service through pre-setting, preparation and pick up in accordance with procedures
- Assist in dish handling through delivery of dirty dishes, unloading, washing, and storing clean dishes, in accordance with procedures
- Perform daily and scheduled cleaning duties
- Organize work to perform in an efficient and timely manner
- Attend in-service meetings and participate in continuing education to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills
- Maintain confidential nature of residents and work environment
