About The Position

Central North Alabama Health Services, Inc. (CNAHSI) operates four community health centers providing medical, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, and chiropractic services in Madison, Limestone, and Morgan counties. It is a Patient-Centered Medical Home and Joint Commission-accredited organization committed to improving community quality of life through access to quality healthcare.

The Certified Dental Assistant supports dentists and hygienists in delivering safe, efficient, patient-centered oral health care to patients of all ages and backgrounds. The position is based in Huntsville, Alabama, is full-time (typically 40 hours per week), and may include required overtime. The listed salary range is $17.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience and certification.

Requirements

• Current dental-assisting credential appropriate for assigned duties.
• At least 2 years of experience working as a Dental Assistant.
• Current CPR/BLS certification, or ability to obtain it by the required start date.
• Knowledge of chairside procedures, radiography, sterilization, and infection prevention.
• Strong communication, organization, confidentiality, and patient-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures.
• Provide chairside assistance during examinations and clinical procedures.
• Capture dental radiographs and maintain accurate electronic health records.
• Follow infection-prevention, sterilization, safety, and confidentiality requirements.
• Educate patients, maintain supplies, and support referrals and follow-up care.
