Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Instructors (Part-Time)
About The Position
Virginia Western Community College is seeking part-time Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Instructors for its School of Career and Corporate Training department. These instructors will teach students in both classroom and skills lab settings to prepare them for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam. The college is a two-year public institution located in Roanoke, VA, serving a region that includes Roanoke, Salem, Roanoke County, Craig County, Franklin County, and southern Botetourt County. The college has a significant enrollment in both credit and continuing education courses.
Requirements
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification.
- Ability to teach students in both classroom and skills lab settings.
- Knowledge of NHA CCMA exam requirements.
- Proficiency in delivering established course curriculum.
- Skills in lab set-up and ensuring lab safety.
- Ability to monitor students effectively.
- Capability to troubleshoot classroom technical issues.
- Skills in tracking equipment usage and inventory.
- Ability to assess students for content mastery and skills proficiency.
- Proficiency in maintaining student attendance and grades.
- Willingness to assist with content development and curriculum.

Responsibilities
- Teach students in classroom and skills lab settings.
- Ensure students gain the knowledge and skills required to pass the NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam.
