About The Position

Amphibious Medics, an on-site first response, health, and safety firm, is seeking an On-Site Certified Athletic Trainer to join their team. This role involves providing wellness examinations, first-aid treatment for musculoskeletal complaints, orthopedic injury evaluations, and developing/implementing wellness programs. The position also includes conducting ergonomic job risk analyses and designing ergonomics interventions. The athletic trainer will focus on education and prevention programs, act as an employee advocate for non-work-related injuries, and may be required to author articles for company newsletters. Candidates must be willing to take online Spanish classes or be bilingual.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Board Certified Athletic training certification
  • State licensures certification
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Willingness to travel to various client locations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and employees

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of preferred athletic training experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of OSHA Recordability and worker's compensation is a plus
  • Previous ergonomic/occupational experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform wellness examinations, including blood pressure and blood glucose testing
  • Provide first-aid treatment and case management for musculoskeletal complaints, including the use of ice, heat, wellness stretches, massage, tape techniques, and knowledge of non-rigid bracing.
  • Provide orthopedic injury evaluations
  • Develop and implement site-specific wellness programs and initiatives
  • Conduct exhaustive ergonomic job risk analyses, which include task analysis, risk factor identification and quantification, posture analysis, and body mechanics analysis.
  • Design and/or implement ergonomics interventions utilizing innovative, creative solutions and employee empowerment.
  • Create an environment of trust and caring that empowers workers to reduce or eliminate actions or behaviors under their control that contribute to injury and illness.
  • Communicate regularly with safety personnel regarding rehabilitation and injury prevention activities.
  • Author articles for various company newsletters and intranets as needed.
  • The onsite athletic trainer will not provide rehabilitation services but will participate in education and prevention programs.
  • Act as a employee advocate for non-work-related injuries.
  • Candidates must be willing to take online Spanish classes or be bilingual.
