About The Position

Assists the Anesthesiologist in developing and implementing an anesthesia care plan for a patient. Performs those duties established by rule by the Board of Medicine in any of the following functions while under the direct supervision of an Anesthesiologist who is present in the surgical or obstetrical suite when the procedure is being performed and who is in all instances immediately available to provide assistance and direction to the CAA while anesthesia services are being performed. This role is part of Medical City Dallas's new anesthesia care team model, offering CAAs the opportunity to help shape the program from its inception. The practice includes a broad adult surgical scope with variety in General Surgery, GYN, Ortho, Urology, Plastics, Podiatry, ENT, GI, Bronchoscopy, and Radiology. Cardiac, pediatrics, and thoracic cases are excluded. Ortho trauma is included, and optional OB shifts are available for additional income. CAAs will practice at the full scope of their training, including arterial lines, central lines, and regional blocks, with direct physician support for skill development. The collaborative medical direction ratio is 1:1 to 1:4.
