About The Position

CRM Residential is hiring a Certification Specialist for Yorktown Arms. The role focuses on compliance with HUD, state agency, and tax credit rules and regulations related to occupancy, recertifications, and tax credit matters. The specialist will communicate with HUD and state agencies regarding Section 8 contract renewals and support onsite staff with occupancy and file-compliance matters. The role is temporary, with potential to become permanent after the New Year, pays $24.00–$26.00 per hour, and is onsite Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work with a variety of people and help them feel comfortable quickly.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Three years of experience with project-based Section 8.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Experience with verifications and renewals.
• HUD experience.
• Experience with RealPage, TRACS, or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for Tax Credit Properties.
• Prepare weekly Company Occupancy Reports for properties and owners.
• Review and critique recertification move-in packages at tax credit properties.
• Prepare handouts for training classes and assist with allocating training costs to participating properties.
• Conduct site visits as needed to assist onsite staff with occupancy, file compliance, and tax credit-specific matters.
• Attend educational seminars relating to tax credit compliance and affordable housing.
• Monitor timely completion of annual recertifications across all sites.
• Advise the Regional Manager of potential problems.
• Correspond in writing with owners and agencies regarding affordable housing.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
