CWB Group Internship program for the role of Certification Service Representative (CSR) aims to offer aspiring professionals, especially those from diverse backgrounds, a meaningful and inclusive learning opportunity that equips them for a prosperous career in the certification and quality assurance field. This 10–12-week program provides the CSR Intern with an extensive and comprehensive learning experience in the CWB certification services department. The role includes hands-on training through visits to companies, Union halls, and CWB accredited test centers to deliver certification services such as welder qualification testing. Additionally, the Intern will gain exposure to and understanding of various other products and services offered by the CWB Group to the industry. Furthermore, the intern will receive a free online Level 1 inspector course and will have the opportunity to take the Level 1 inspector certification exam to earn a visual Level 1 inspector certification. Requirements

  • Recent Graduates or students currently enrolled in post-secondary welding programs.
  • Bilingualism/proficiency in French and English is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Welding processes (GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, GTAW).
  • Familiarity with welding codes and standards.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Technical Expertise - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols and specifications.
  • Willingness to learn about non-destructive/destructive testing.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Must be highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility with changing priorities, and the ability to remain focused on meeting targeted timelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is required for this job.
  • Candidate should be a resident of Quebec.
  • Comply with all aspects of the CWB Group OH&S Management System.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • This position will work out of CWB’s client locations in Montreal, Quebec and as needed from their home office.
  • Travel within the Quebec and surrounding area is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years relevant experience as Welder or relevant work experience in Welding Industry.
  • Knowledge of skilled trades including apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct welder qualification tests for CWB applicants, certified companies, CWB accredited test centers, and Unions in accordance with the relevant certification standards and CWB internal quality procedures.
  • Engage in various auditing activities to assist CWB applicants and certified organizations to obtain and uphold the certification requirements.
  • Engage in conducting procedure qualification tests to assist CWB applicants and certified organizations to obtain and uphold certification.
  • Engage in the review and acceptance of welding supervisor applicant qualifications to assist CWB applicants and certified organizations to obtain and uphold certification.
  • Actively participate in other departmental training. E.g. Client Success, CWB Consulting, CWB Registration, CWB Education etc., Health and Safety.
  • Successful completion of Level I Inspector Program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
