Organization: eStar Training Delivery Job Summary: The Applications Trainer is responsible for delivering virtual, instructor‑led training to newly hired frontline staff across multiple clinical applications. Training is primarily class‑based and focuses on Epic applications, including but not limited to Ambulatory, Research, Stork, Radiant, Cupid, Willow, and Beaker, as well as Cerner CoPath during the organization’s transition from Cerner to Epic. This role facilitates interactive, scenario‑based learning programs for both clinical and non‑clinical end users in a remote environment. Depending on the application, the trainer may instruct the same cohort of learners throughout the week or deliver stand‑alone classes that occur once per week. Responsibilities include tracking attendance, administering course evaluations and proficiency assessments, and partnering with the logistics team as needed. The position requires flexibility, with classroom facilitation ranging from three to five days per week based on training demand. On non‑facilitation days, the trainer will support additional duties such as collaborating with principal trainers, learning new curricula, contributing to course preparation, and completing administrative tasks. The Applications Trainer applies strong communication, instructional design, and technical skills to ensure training objectives are met and learners are well‑prepared to perform their roles. Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am CST start time .

Requirements

  • Associates degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred (or equivalent experience) and 2 years’ experience.
  • Completed Credentialing Process for at least one (1) application preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering remote training across multiple Epic applications, including (but not limited to) Ambulatory, Research, Stork, Radiant, Cupid, and Willow
  • Experience training or supporting Cerner CoPath
  • Demonstrated experience providing Epic end-user application training
  • Proven ability to facilitate remote training sessions, including virtual classroom and one-on-one formats
  • Comfortable using remote training platforms such as Microsoft Teams
  • Strong flexibility and adaptability to accommodate ad hoc schedule changes and evolving training needs
  • Knowledge and practical application of Adult Learning Theory to design and deliver effective training experiences
  • Preferred knowledge of virtual training platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Delivers in person and virtual eStar training to assigned staff.
  • Administers classroom evaluations and provides course updates to management.
  • Uses software programs to develop learning materials.
  • Applies strategies of adult learning as well as appropriate instructional strategies to optimize learning.
  • Ensures that all material is current and distributes updated material to participants.
  • Available to train all necessary classes, including some weekend and after-hours classes.
  • Follows all required facilitator notes and procedures.
  • Consults as needed for special projects that require knowledge of computerized applications or processes that affect patient care and or new implementation.
  • Collaborates within the individual team, department, and organization on special projects.
  • Follows correct procedures for notifying end users of class start time, location, and specific processes required for training at least 24 hours in advance. This includes sending out class invites, instruction booklets and guides required for training.
  • Follows up with end user questions, which were not able to be answered during classroom training.
  • Completes help desk tickets, as assigned.
  • Works 1:1 with staff, as requested through Pegasus tickets or via an email.
