Central Sterile Technician PRN
About The Position
As a Central Sterile Technician at Del Sol Medical Center, you will help protect patient safety and support surgical care by ensuring instruments and supplies are clean, prepared, and available when needed. You will clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays; manage sterilization equipment and related records; prepare customized surgical sets and case carts; manage inventory and supplies in OR storage and specialty lockers; and respond to urgent instrument and equipment requests during surgeries. The position is PRN. No travel or prior experience is required. A qualifying sterile processing certification must be obtained within 18 months of the employment start date.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Obtain either CSPDT (Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) certification or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification within 18 months of the employment start date.
- No experience required.
- No travel required.
Responsibilities
- Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays, ensuring they are sterile, complete, labeled, and ready for use.
- Manage sterilization equipment and maintain accurate records to support patient safety and infection prevention.
- Prepare customized surgical sets and case carts according to daily schedules and procedure needs.
- Manage inventory and supplies in OR storage and specialty lockers, coordinating with the surgical team.
- Respond promptly to instrument requests during surgeries and help resolve urgent equipment needs.
