About The Position
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Technician or Department Manager of Sterile Processing, the Central Service Tech carries out sterile processing operations and is proficient in all assigned job duties. The position works evenings, with 8-hour shifts and an FTE of 0.9. The listed pay range is $18–$23 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- One year of previous related experience.
- CS Tech certification.
Responsibilities
- Carry out Standard Precautions at all times.
- Perform all phases of decontamination for instruments, carts, and equipment, including commodes, Imeds, isolation carts, wheelchairs, and stretchers.
- Operate the washer-decontaminator, cart wash, and steam gun.
- Inspect and assemble instruments for the OR, CTOR, Cath lab, EP lab, X-ray, ER, Sleep lab, and off-site locations.
- Operate the department’s steam, ETO, and STERRAD sterilizers.
- Wrap and label items properly and record information on the appropriate log sheets.
- Maintain accurate logs on all sterilizers.
- Operate the heat sealer, labeling gun, and drying cabinet.
- Accurately document results.
- Delint, fold, and assemble reusable linen according to procedures.
- Restock hemodialysis carts, minor procedure carts, and prisma carts.
