About The Position
As a member of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family of companies, SpartanNash is a food solutions company that distributes grocery and household goods and operates grocery stores, pharmacies, and fuel centers. The Center Store role works independently to display and stock products while supporting the store’s financial interests. The associate helps meet company guidelines for guest experience, safety, and food safety. The position is performed in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions; noise is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Retail or related experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Detail-oriented.

Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving, unloading, and stacking merchandise in the back room.
- Fill, rotate, and merchandise shelves, cases, and displays on the sales floor.
- Notify the manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
- Maintain familiarity with department products and their locations in the store.
- Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines.
- Maintain clean, attractive, and well-stocked departments.
- Follow personal protective equipment and safety guidelines.
- Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
- Follow guest experience guidelines.
- Perform tasks in other departments as assigned based on customer experience needs.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
