About The Position

The Center Store Manager leads the grocery department team, including the frozen and dairy sections. The manager oversees staff and daily operations, maintains product quality, optimizes displays, and ensures a clean, organized department that meets customer needs and sales targets. The role is primarily in-store and includes time in refrigerated areas. It involves exposure to cold environments and physical demands such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in grocery or retail management.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of food safety regulations, inventory management, and refrigeration systems.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Proficiency with inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily grocery department operations, particularly the frozen and dairy sections.
Ensure proper stocking, product rotation, and accurate pricing.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in compliance with health and safety standards.
Monitor refrigeration systems to ensure proper temperature control for frozen and dairy products.
Manage inventory, conduct regular audits, and place orders to maintain product availability.
Minimize product shrinkage through proper product handling and storage.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries of frozen and dairy products.
Supervise, train, and motivate department staff.
Create work schedules, assign tasks, and manage staff performance.
Train staff on product knowledge, customer service, and safety procedures.
Resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
Maintain a welcoming and helpful shopping environment and collaborate with other departments to improve the overall shopping experience.
Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and increase profitability.
Analyze sales data and customer trends to adjust product offerings, promotions, and merchandising.
Manage department budgets, monitor labor costs, and support efficient operations.
Create and maintain effective product displays in the frozen and dairy sections.
Ensure promotional signage and pricing are accurate.
Work with the store merchandising team to plan seasonal and thematic displays.
