About The Position

The Center Store Associate provides quality customer service in the Center Store (Grocery) Department. The role maintains department standards in accordance with the standard practice manual, maximizes sales through excellent customer service, and minimizes shrink through proper use of standard practices. The position requires open availability for evening hours from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness and be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Clean shelves and shelf tag moldings with a damp cloth as needed when stocking.
• Maintain shelf allocations by stocking merchandise from tag to tag, and place only saleable merchandise on shelves.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and display of merchandise follow company policies and guidelines.
• Understand and use company tools, including the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and computer-assisted ordering (CAO).
• Understand and adhere to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
• Follow food safety and workplace safety guidelines and procedures.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents.
• Report associate and customer accidents to the Manager on Duty in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform and name badge, maintain a neat and clean appearance, and follow the dress code while on duty.
• Complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
