About The Position

Grifols is hiring a full-time Center Medical Specialist - Registered Nurse at a plasma donation center in Calexico, California. The role supports donor suitability and safety, customer satisfaction, and staff training. The position is performed in a plasma center and involves exposure to biological fluids and potentially infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold while working in plasma freezers. Personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear, is required when applicable. The estimated pay scale is $40.00–$44.00 per hour, and the position is eligible to participate in up to 4% of the company bonus pool. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, up to a 5% 401(k) match, and tuition reimbursement. Employees may have geographic mobility among the company's donation centers. The role does not involve a third shift.

Requirements

Be educated and currently licensed or certified as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment, in accordance with state requirements.
Hold current CPR certification.
Be bilingual in Spanish.

Responsibilities

Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
Ensure confidentiality for donors and staff.
Inform donors of potential hazards.
Provide general health education and counseling regarding unacceptable test results.
Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
Evaluate histories of illness or medication use to ensure continued donor suitability.
Assist with employee training.
Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
