About The Position

The Cell Leader is responsible for overseeing the operations within their assigned work cell, ensuring smooth production, adherence to quality standards, and the safety of all team members. This role involves direct supervision of operators, managing resources, and communicating effectively with management and other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties as listed on the Operator instructions and all functions within their respective work cell.
  • Communicate with outgoing Cell Leader regarding any issues or changes.
  • Inspect the cell prior to the arrival of the cell team and ensure previous discrepancies are addressed.
  • Conduct T1 meetings, discussing the T1 sheet and any received Alerts.
  • Assign employees to their workstations.
  • Provide the cell with necessary materials, documentation, and equipment.
  • Ensure all standard work instructions are posted and followed correctly.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of housekeeping, working tidily and organized.
  • Ensure the safety of all cell members and report unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Prepare the cell for the next team at the end of the shift, ensuring readiness for immediate occupancy and productivity.
  • Address the disposition of all items and product within the cell.
  • Ensure labels and bins are correctly located and labeled.
  • Cover and/or assign relief operators for breaks and lunches.
  • Communicate relevant information to incoming cell leader.
  • Input detailed work orders for automation and tool room for production-affecting issues.
  • Ensure all quality procedures are being followed properly, including labeling and quantity checks.
  • Ensure operators are following standard work and inspection procedures.
  • Perform red rabbits prior to job commencement and when prompted.
  • Take appropriate action when a Quality Alert is received, including issuing DMRs.
  • Contain all product from non-certified operators as per the versatility chart.
  • Communicate New Launch and Issue containment requirements to containment operators.
  • Promote efficiency improvement while maintaining quality levels.
  • Accurately track labor hours and report to supervisor daily.
  • Foster and promote continuous improvement efforts and ensure communication to the next management level.
  • Facilitate open and honest communication with Supervisors, PE’s, Cell Team, and other employees.
  • Promote pride of workmanship, urgency, consistency, punctuality, and a positive team approach through leadership by example.
  • Communicate specific duties and responsibilities to cell team members prior to program changes.
  • Ensure Plex, Poke Yoke, and workstations are properly set up before completion of changeover.
  • Monitor production to schedule and make necessary adjustments.
  • Notify supervisor if schedule cannot be achieved.
  • Train Operators as directed by the Supervisor and ensure training is recorded.
  • Complete first aid training and administer first aid when needed.
  • Complete Emergency Response training and aid management in the event of evacuation.
  • Attend additional meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Conduct WIP counts according to schedule and communicate results.
  • Ensure the 4D Board is updated daily, including scrap % calculation and tracking, completing wellness sheets, and updating versatility charts.
  • Understand and perform procedures such as Error Skid Inspection, Repack, Live Freight, and Parts Dropped in shipping.
