About The Position

Austin Community College is seeking a CE Advanced Manufacturing Semiconductor Instructor to implement and teach educational semiconductor programs, courses, experiences, and services that will directly aid students in achieving educational objectives. This is a temporary, grant-funded position through 12/31/2026.

Requirements

Three years of related work experience in a technical field.
BS in Engineering
Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation for teaching at multiple locations.
Ability to communicate effectively with students.
Ability to move cylinders, steel, and other equipment typical of a welding shop or lab.
Ability to lift and move 80 pounds.
Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, classroom, or other current learning technologies for effective teaching at the community college level.

Responsibilities

Instructs students in the advanced manufacturing semiconductor discipline.
Provides learning activities that stimulate student involvement and encourage critical thinking.
Develop and deliver semiconductor training.
Support the installation of semiconductor equipment on campus.
Maintains office hours to assist students.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Workforce Projects Coordinator, Manager and/or Dean.
Provide instruction 3 of the following areas: Electronics, Automated systems, PLCs and Mechanical systems.
