CDL Truck Driver
About The Position
John F. Martin & Sons LLC is seeking an experienced CDL Truck Driver to support its expanding operations in the Womelsdorf and Stevens areas. The company is a fourth-generation, family-owned manufacturer and distributor of meat and cheese products. Its JFM Logistics operation transports products to customers throughout the East Coast and Mid-West. The driver operates a tractor-trailer or straight truck to deliver and/or pick up refrigerated and non-refrigerated products according to specified schedules, traveling between company and customer locations. The role includes safe vehicle operation and inspection, loading and unloading freight, compliance with DOT load regulations, customer service, and accurate completion of delivery and vehicle records.
Requirements
- Experienced CDL Truck Driver.
- Ability to operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck.
- Ability to operate electric jacks and forklifts.
- Ability to safely load and unload freight and comply with DOT load regulations.
- Ability to complete logbooks and delivery, cargo, and other required records accurately.
Responsibilities
- Operate assigned vehicles, electric jacks, and forklifts in accordance with safety standards and proper operating techniques.
- Conduct and record daily vehicle and equipment safety checks, including pre-trip inspections of fuel and oil levels, tires, lights, and brakes.
- Follow the preventative maintenance program and keep the truck clean and professional in appearance.
- Safely load and unload containers, pallets, materials, and products using manual handling, manual skid jacks, electric jacks, and/or forklifts.
- Balance and distribute loads throughout the trailer and check axle weights to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Make deliveries and pickups according to schedule while providing professional service and promoting customer satisfaction.
- Accurately complete and return bills of lading, delivery slips, invoices, and other associated documentation to the home base at the end of the day.
- Complete daily paperwork, including logbooks, cargo records, and other assigned records.
