About The Position

C&S Chemicals is looking for an experienced CDL-A Tanker Truck Driver to join their Logistics Team. This role involves the safe and efficient transportation of hazardous materials in liquid bulk tankers, with regional routes and weekly home time. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Class A CDL (unrestricted) required.
  • Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements required.
  • At least 24 months verifiable commercial vehicle operating experience within the last 36 months operating similar equipment (5 axle articulated trailer equipment).
  • No more than three (3) Moving Violations in the last 36 months.
  • No more than one (1) “Serious” Violations in the last 36 months.
  • Willingness to put customers first.
  • Capable of maneuvering vehicles and equipment in confined environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must pass and maintain a USDOT physical.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and operate trucks in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Follow all company and government-mandated safety regulations and policies.
  • Complete all pre- and post-trip inspections in accordance with USDOT regulations and company policies.
  • Utilize electronic logging devices (ELD) to maintain hours of service logs in accordance with USDOT regulations.
  • Wear required PPE including masks, gloves, chemical suits, boot coverings, eye, ear, and face protection.
  • Follow appropriate standard operating procedures (SOP) for filling and discharging materials.
  • Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.
  • Crank trailer landing gear up or down to safely secure vehicles.
  • Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Read bills of lading (BOL) to determine assignment details.
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs or tire chains.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
