About The Position

The CDL Swing Driver performs pre- and post-operation inspections of commercial vehicles, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and other components to ensure they are in proper working order. The driver safely operates commercial vehicles on assigned routes, including highways, residential communities, and alleyways, and operates manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.

The role involves communicating courteously with personnel, dispatchers, and others to ensure services are completed on time and professionally. The driver monitors vehicle condition and readiness, completes required documents and reports, meets department productivity standards, and follows all safety policies and procedures. The position requires the ability to lift or carry heavy objects and compliance with Department of Transportation qualifications and workplace substance-abuse testing policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Class B commercial driver’s license.
• Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary.
• Must meet Department of Transportation qualifications.
• Must comply with workplace substance-abuse policies and testing, including testing during initial onboarding and continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles on assigned routes, including highways, residential communities, and alleyways.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Interact courteously with personnel, dispatchers, and others to ensure services are completed in a timely and professional manner.
• Monitor vehicle condition to maintain operational readiness and minimize downtime.
• Accurately complete required documents and reports.
• Adhere to department productivity standards to ensure customers are serviced efficiently and on time.
• Follow and uphold all safety policies and procedures.
