About The Position

The CDL Swing Driver operates commercial vehicles on assigned routes, including highways, residential communities, and alleyways. The driver completes pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections, monitors vehicle condition, follows safety policies and procedures, interacts professionally with personnel and dispatchers, completes required documentation, and meets department productivity standards. The role requires a Class B commercial driver’s license and compliance with Department of Transportation qualifications. The employer maintains substance-abuse testing as a condition of onboarding and continued employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Class B commercial driver’s license.
• Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary.
• Meet all qualifications defined under Department of Transportation regulations.
• Submit to substance-abuse testing as a condition of initial onboarding and continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspections of commercial vehicles, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, and gauges.
• Safely operate commercial vehicles on assigned routes, including highways, residential communities, and alleyways.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Interact courteously with personnel, dispatchers, and others to ensure services are completed in a timely and professional manner.
• Monitor vehicle condition to keep it operationally ready and minimize downtime.
• Accurately complete required documents and reports.
• Meet department productivity standards so customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
• Adhere to and uphold all safety policies and procedures.
