Requirements
- Possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent
- Possession of an active Pennsylvania Class A or B Commercial Driver Learner's Permit on the first day of work
- Possession of an active Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations by the first day of work
- Ability to perform essential job functions
Responsibilities
- Train to operate heavy trucks, loaders, and other construction equipment while completing required safety checks
- Use hand tools and motorized tools such as shovels, chain saws, tampers, and patching machines during maintenance work
- Follow proper safety procedures, make observations, and report hazards or injuries to protect yourself and others
- Assist crews with manual labor tasks needed for highway and bridge maintenance projects
- Carry out environmental protection steps and complete training requirements related to maintenance activities
