Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
  • Possess a Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • By law, you must be at least 21 years of age
  • Hazmat Endorsement
  • 2+ years of similar driving experience
  • Must be able to drive a Manual Transmission (no restrictions)
  • CDL Class B
  • Tanker Endorsement
  • Valid Driver License
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50 pounds throughout the workday
  • Ability to stand and walk over uneven surfaces for extended periods
  • Visual acuity to read labels and documentation; depth perception to safely drive forklifts
  • Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms
  • Ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Willingness and ability to wear company-issued personal protection equipment including safety glasses, hard had, steel toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a DOT physical, drug test and DEA background check.

  • Tanker and Airbrake Endorsements (If you do not have either endorsement you will be expected to obtain them at company's expense as a condition of employment)
  • Strong working knowledge of Environmental/Regulatory/DOT rules and regulations.
  • waste industry experience
  • Knowledge of computer software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Maintains a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC)

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Label containers and complete pre-printed manifests / work orders.
  • Schedule shipments into or off site.
  • Pickup and drop off loaded and empty roll off boxes using a tractor trailer
  • Perform End Dump work as needed
  • Perform van trailer work as needed
  • Perform Tanker work as needed
  • Performs warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of waste materials.
  • Loads, unloads, moves, or stores items according to delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions and performing general housekeeping duties.
  • Operates a hand truck, forklift, or other heavy equipment.
  • Performs various regulatory compliance and safety tasks including, but not limited to: Pre-trip inspections of vehicle, report all losses, spills, accidents, and safety violations to supervisor immediately. and resolve leaking containers/containers in non-DOT shippable condition.
  • Ongoing contact with all levels of Customers on a daily basis in delivering, promoting, and collecting waste containers. Regular contact with many different levels of personnel.
  • Perform any other administrative duties assigned by management.
  • Classify, segregate, and inventory waste containers in storage for shipment.
  • Conducts lab pack operations.
  • Pack small laboratory containers of chemical waste into larger containers for shipment.
  • Process and prepare Universal Hazardous Waste manifests, bills of lading and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs) for hazardous waste shipment according to state, EPA and DOT regulations.
  • Provide services related to hazardous and non-hazardous waste removal from customer sites.
  • Segregate and package material for transport.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, practices and procedures.
  • Operate for trucks and other mobile equipment to move containers to and from storage and treatment areas and to load/unload trailers.
  • Complete required documentation accurately, timely and legibly in accordance with applicable regulations and customer policies, practices and procedures.
  • Perform other reasonable related task as assigned by management
