About The Position
The CDL Driver (Class A) safely and professionally transports building materials, construction products, and equipment to customer locations and job sites. The role combines commercial driving with hands-on responsibilities for loading, unloading, securing, and verifying materials. Deliveries may include oversized, specialized, or engineered building components, depending on the business unit. The driver follows DOT/FMCSA regulations and company safety standards while working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Class A CDL in good standing.
- At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform touch-freight tasks, including lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 pounds.
- Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify load accuracy.
- Notify branch management of potential hazards at a site.
- Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading.
- Communicate regularly with the dispatcher to support timely deliveries.
- Follow DOT and company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
