About The Position

Sterling Crane LLC, a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings (backed by Berkshire Hathaway), is seeking a CDL Crane Rigger for its Billings, MT Branch. Founded in 1954, Sterling Crane is a leader in the heavy lift industry, offering operated and bare rentals, sales, parts, and service with a large inventory of modern lifting equipment. The CDL Crane Rigger will assist the crane operator in preparing to move heavy materials, equipment, and in the building of mobile cranes. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years previous experience as a rigger.
Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to follow safety procedures.
Successfully pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
Strong knowledge of math applications, weights, measurements, equipment capacity limitations and weight limits.
Problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify safety issues.
Previous experience using crane hand signals.
Team player who has excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

CDL preferred.
NCCER or NCCCO crane rigger certification - preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure all applicable rigging meets safety requirements and Sterling Crane standards during the precheck process.
Haul materials and equipment between job sites.
Signal crane operator during lifts for directional or placement instructions.
Guide and position loads as necessary at elevated heights.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
