About The Position

The Ready Mix Concrete Truck Driver delivers ready mix concrete to customer job sites in both commercial and residential areas. The work schedule will vary and may include up to 6 days per week with up to 10+ hour days. Overtime may be required on a voluntary or mandatory basis, including Saturdays, depending upon business needs.

Requirements

• CDL Class B license
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of ready mix truck pursuant to DOT regulations.
• Ability to check fluid levels of engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes, and other driver operated controls for loading and unloading ready mix wash-out systems.
• Ability to complete all forms, tickets and required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Ability to keep inside and outside of truck clean.
• Ability to communicate with dispatch, maintenance and plant management.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate truck in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and company regulations.
• Efficiently load and deliver perishable product to customers, striving to provide quality and excellent customer service.
• Follow procedures to ensure truck is safe to operate, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the ready mix truck pursuant to DOT regulations. Inspections include checking fluid levels of engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes, and other driver-operated controls for loading and unloading ready mix wash-out systems. Report maintenance as required.
• When not performing driving duties, assist with plant maintenance, clean-up, and other duties assigned by supervisor. This may include sweeping, shoveling, and other basic maintenance tasks around the plant and yard.
• Operate truck to receive load, evaluate slump, and drive to job site. Safely maneuver truck on job site, attach chutes to discharge material, and clean truck to minimize concrete buildup.
• Complete all forms, tickets, and required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Keep the inside and outside of the truck clean.
• Communicate with dispatch, maintenance, and plant management to facilitate the flow of information required to provide outstanding customer service.
