About The Position
The Ready Mix Concrete Truck Driver delivers ready mix concrete to customer job sites in commercial and residential areas. The work schedule varies and may include up to six days per week, with days lasting up to 10 or more hours. Overtime may be voluntary or mandatory during the work week and on Saturdays, depending on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate the truck in accordance with applicable federal, state, and company regulations.
- Load and deliver perishable concrete efficiently while providing quality service to customers.
- Perform DOT-compliant pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checks of fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, driver-operated controls, and loading and unloading wash-out systems.
- Report maintenance needs.
- Assist with plant maintenance, cleanup, and other duties assigned by the supervisor when not driving, including sweeping, shoveling, and basic maintenance around the plant and yard.
- Receive loads, evaluate slump, and drive to job sites.
- Maneuver the truck safely at job sites, attach discharge chutes, and clean the truck to minimize concrete buildup.
- Complete forms, tickets, and required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Keep the inside and outside of the truck clean.
- Communicate with dispatch, maintenance, and plant management to support information flow and customer service.
