CDL Class A OTR Truck Driver
About The Position
Denning Companies is recruiting experienced Class A CDL drivers from the Sioux Falls, South Dakota area for over-the-road driving with Silver Creek Carriers, its asset-based trucking operation based in Chancellor, South Dakota. This is an over-the-road position, not a daily commute to Chancellor. Dispatch arrangements and equipment pickup or return requirements will be discussed during hiring. The role offers percentage-based compensation of up to 26% of gross freight revenue, with actual compensation varying based on freight hauled, loads completed, and applicable driver pay arrangements. Home time is coordinated with dispatch and depends on driver availability and operational needs. Peterbilt 389 trucks are available for company drivers, and opportunities are available for both company drivers and owner-operators.
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Previous commercial truck driving experience; two or more years preferred.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Ability to meet applicable DOT requirements and required screenings.
- Strong commitment to safe driving and dependable service.
- Willingness to perform over-the-road assignments with flexible home-time arrangements.

- Two or more years of commercial truck driving experience.
- Experience with freight securement and tarping.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles on assigned over-the-road routes.
- Transport freight according to scheduled pickup and delivery requirements.
- Secure freight properly and perform tarping when required.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain accurate electronic driver logs and transportation records.
- Follow DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
- Communicate regularly with dispatch about freight assignments, schedules, and delivery updates.
- Promptly report maintenance concerns, delays, and equipment issues.
- Provide professional service to customers and shipping partners.
