About The Position

The CDL Class A Driver (LTL) drives a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments. The position is based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for CDL Class A drivers. Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978, with more than 1,800 employees and operations across the Midwest. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 7:30 a.m. start and work continuing until the route is complete. The role is expected to include 10–15 hours of overtime each week, paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. The hourly pay range is $24.00–$30.75, based on experience. Starting pay depends on relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity, and compensation increases are subject to company policies, performance, and individual development. This is a full-time, nonexempt position. The driver must meet DOT and company safety requirements, pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check, and be able to pass a DOT physical. Requirements

At least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license and have a good driving record that meets company standards.
Be able to operate a manual transmission.
Possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Have good customer service and organizational skills.
Be able to work independently and make quick decisions.
Be able to pass a DOT physical.
Be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Have a full range of motion for grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, and related activities.
Be able to work with freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
Submit pre-trip forms and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
Deliver palletized freight to customers and pick up freight from shippers in a timely manner.
Verify that load-related documentation is complete and accurate.
Collect shipment payments as necessary and return bills of lading to the office for billing.
Maintain all certifications required by DOT and company safety policies.
Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed.
