About The Position

The CDL Class A Driver (Transport) drives a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals. The role is based in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with an 8:30 p.m. start, and 10–15 hours of overtime are expected each week. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Pay is $28.00–$35.50 per hour, based on experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for CDL Class A drivers. Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license and have a good driving record that meets company standards.
Be able to operate a manual transmission.
Possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Have good customer service and organizational skills.
Be able to work independently and make quick decisions.
Be able to pass a DOT physical.
Be able to lift up to 75 pounds and have full range of motion for grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, and walking.
Be able to work with freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Conduct a pre-trip inspection to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
Submit the pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
Drive between terminals to transport parcels.
Maintain all required DOT certifications and comply with company safety policies.
Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed.
