About The Position
Universal Logistics is seeking a CDL Class A Yard Switcher to join their team. This role involves moving trailers in and out of docks and between yards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and assisting other drivers. The position is active, requiring frequent entry and exit from the truck to manage dock doors. Responsibilities also include verifying trailer information against paperwork, inspecting trailers for safety, and reporting any issues.
Requirements
- At least 21 years old with valid CDL A
- 6 MONTHS TRACTOR TRAILER EXPERIENCE NEEDED!
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
- No more than 2 preventable accident in the last 3 years
- No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years
Responsibilities
- Moving trailers in and out of docks
- Moving trailers to and from separate yards
- Complying with all GM safety regulations
- Assisting OTR drivers
- Checking trailer numbers and seals against paperwork when moving between yards
- Inspecting trailers prior to moving them for DOT cert and general safety concerns report upward to Leads and security
