CDL-A Trainee
About The Position
This regional fleet hires new drivers and provides paid training with an experienced driver trainer for 4 to 6 weeks. Trainees earn $800 per week during training. After sign-off, drivers receive their own truck and a guaranteed $1,000 per week for their first 3 months solo. Drivers travel to states west of the Mississippi, averaging about 2,300 miles per week, and are home every two weeks. The work is mostly drop and hook. Average weekly gross pay is $1,300 to $1,400, with mileage pay that grows with experience, $15 stop pay, and a performance bonus plan. Riders and pets are allowed after training is complete.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL and be at least 21 years old.
- New drivers must have 120 or more hours from an accredited CDL school.
- Experienced drivers must have 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months, or 12 or more months in the past 5 years.
- No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years.
- No major preventable accidents in 5 years.
- Pass hair and urine drug testing and a DOT physical.
