This Northeast regional CDL-A position offers paid on-the-road training with a driver trainer, followed by solo driving. Trainees earn $850 per week during training and are guaranteed $1,000 per week for their first three months solo. Starting pay is $0.80 per mile, increasing by one cent per year up to $0.85 per mile. Drivers average about 1,900 miles per week, with an average weekly gross of $1,700. Additional pay includes $15 per stop and $80 when an unload is required. Drivers travel throughout the Northeast and New England, as far south as Virginia, serving different customers each week without a set lane. The work is mostly drop-and-hook, and drivers are home every week. A planner helps keep miles coming. After training, riders and pets are allowed.
