About The Position
This position is for individuals who have obtained their CDL-A but lack prior driving experience. Corpus Christi drivers have the opportunity to begin on a Houston-based regional fleet that provides on-the-road training for new CDL holders and frequent home time. The training involves riding with an experienced driver trainer on actual loads, with guaranteed weekly pay during training. Upon completion of training, drivers will transition to their own truck with full pay. A guaranteed $1,000 per week is offered for the first 3 months of solo driving.
Requirements
- CDL-A in hand
- 21 years or older
- No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years
- Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Live within 250 miles of Houston, TX
- 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school (for those with no experience)
Nice To Haves
- 12 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience (for experienced drivers who can skip training)
Responsibilities
- Ride with an experienced driver trainer on real loads
- Move into your own truck on full pay once trainer signs off
- Drive dry van regional freight within TX, OK, LA, MS, AR, TN, AL, KS, MO, IA, IL
- Complete approximately 1,700 to 2,000 miles per week
- Handle drop and hook, live loads, and unloads
