About The Position

This position is for CDL-A holders who have recently graduated from CDL school and have no prior driving experience. Drivers will start with a Northeast fleet out of Syracuse, NY, and will receive on-the-road training. This role specifically avoids sending drivers into New York City. The job involves dry van freight in the Northeast and New England regions, with weekly mileage ranging from 1,500 to 2,800 miles. The freight is mostly drop and hook, with some live loads and unloads. Flexible home time is offered, with a guarantee of a weekend off after running 1,900 miles in a week. Drivers can expect to earn an average of $1,300 to $2,000 weekly, with a starting pay of 55 cents per mile, plus an additional cent for every year of experience with the company, up to 65 cents per mile.

Requirements

• CDL-A in hand.
• Must be 21 or older.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years.
• Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Live within 200 miles of Syracuse, NY.
• 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school (for new drivers).
• Experienced drivers: 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Ride with an experienced driver trainer on real loads.
• Move into your own truck on full pay once your trainer signs off.
• Transport dry van freight in the Northeast and New England.
• Operate within a weekly mileage range of 1,500 to 2,800 miles.
• Perform mostly drop and hook operations, with some live loads and unloads.
