About The Position

Trimac is hiring an over-the-road (OTR) owner-operator to haul chemical freight across the United States. Freight includes latex, adhesives, and hazardous and non-hazardous loads. Most loads are pre-loaded, with occasional live loads. Routes run between various U.S. pickup and destination locations, with an expected 2,500–3,000 miles per week. The schedule is three weeks out and one week home. Compensation is $2.00 per loaded mile and $1.50 per empty mile, plus fuel surcharge, paid weekly by direct deposit. The posting also lists a gross weekly range of $5,395–$6,473 and a gross annual range of $280,000–$340,000. Qualified candidates may receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Paid orientation and training are provided.

Requirements

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
At least 6 months of tanker experience.
Pass Trimac’s safety assessment.
Use a 2010 or newer tractor.
During the past 7 years, no driving violation involving the consumption of illegal or intoxicating substances and no preventable rollover or fatality crash.
During the past 3 years, no license suspensions involving drugs and/or alcohol, or record indicating disregard for public safety; no major preventable accident; and fewer than two moving convictions.

Responsibilities

Haul various chemicals, including latex and adhesives, as well as hazardous and non-hazardous loads.
Travel between pickup and destination points at various locations in the United States.
Complete approximately 2,500–3,000 miles per week.
