CDL-A Night Linehaul Driver – Drop & Hook
About The Position
Oak Harbor Freight Lines is seeking local and regional linehaul drivers to safely transport freight between terminals or meeting points across its service area. This role involves operating tractor-trailer combinations, navigating challenging road and weather conditions, meeting reliability and safety standards, and chaining up when needed. Drivers may be required to work nights and/or weekends. The position includes drop-and-hook work and pays for drops, hooks, chain-up, fuel stops, and waiting time. The company advertises competitive mileage pay, with experienced drivers starting at $0.80 per mile or $34.41 per hour. Drivers are home daily.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent, consecutive, verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience.
- Hazmat, Tanker, and Double/Triples endorsements required at the time of application.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Clean driving record, with no DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in the past three years.
- Strong communication skills with customers, co-workers, and management.
- Basic English proficiency for reading, writing, and verbal communication.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations between terminals or meeting points.
- Navigate challenging road conditions, including inclement weather.
- Consistently meet reliability and safety standards.
- Chain up as needed.
- Work weekends and/or nights if required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
