About The Position

Oak Harbor Freight Lines is hiring local and regional linehaul drivers to operate tractor-trailer combinations between terminals or meet points across its service area. This role is described as night linehaul and drop-and-hook. Freight is no-touch, and drivers are home nightly on most routes. Experienced drivers can start at $0.80 per mile or $34.41 per hour, with additional pay for each drop, hook, chain, fuel stop, and wait time. Drivers may need to work weekends or nights, navigate inclement weather, and chain up as needed. The company describes itself as having a 110-year legacy and operating across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and California. Requirements

At least 1 year of recent, consecutive, verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience.
Hazmat, Tanker, and Double/Triples endorsements are required at the time of application.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Clean driving record, with no DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in the past three years.
Strong communication skills with customers, co-workers, and management.
Basic proficiency in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations between terminals or meet points.
Navigate challenging road conditions, including inclement weather.
Consistently meet reliability and safety standards.
Be prepared to chain up as needed.
Work weekends and/or nights if required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
