CDL-A Local Intermodal Truck Driver – $18.71 Stop Pay
About The Position
Drive for a dedicated local intermodal container operation based in Bell Gardens, California, serving the Los Angeles area, the Inland Empire, and select routes north through the Grapevine, including Shafter and Lebec. Drivers handle drop-and-hook moves, live loads, live unloads, and preloaded containers. Some loads require no-touch assistance. The account uses auto-dispatch, so drivers do not select their routes; mandatory northern runs include pickups at a facility in Shafter and deliveries to Lebec. Drivers work a five-day schedule and return home daily, with a 10-hour break. Schedule options are Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday, with day and night shifts available and optional extra workdays. Holiday coverage varies, and volunteers are normally requested for major holidays. The operation is slip-seat, with trucks parked at the Bell Gardens yard. Drivers typically use their full 11-hour driving time; depending on freight demand, some shifts may extend to the full 14-hour on-duty window. Listed weekly pay options are $1,400–$1,800, with hourly pay of $19.25 and stop pay of $18.71 per stop.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- At least 3 months of verifiable CDL-A experience.
- Experienced first-seat drivers preferred/required.
- Clean driving record.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- SAP drivers are not accepted.
- Ability to operate intermodal containers secured on chassis.
- Flexibility to work dispatch-assigned routes, including mandatory Shafter and Lebec runs.
- Ability to work the assigned day or night schedule.
