CDL-A Local Driver – GOOD PAY + $10,000 Sign-On Bonus
About The Position
The CDL-A Local Driver hauls dedicated retail freight from the Home Depot distribution center in Westfield, Massachusetts, to stores and distribution centers across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. New York City routes are excluded. Drivers pick up backhauls for return to the distribution center and average two loads per day plus a backhaul. Freight is no-touch, and approximately 90% of backhauls are live-loaded. The schedule runs Thursday through Monday, with an approximate 7:00 a.m. start and daily home time. Drivers use automatic day-cab trucks that are slip-seated and cannot be taken home. Drivers must arrange their own transportation to and from work. The holiday schedule includes Thanksgiving and Christmas off, with work required on New Year's Day. Average annual pay is $87,000, average weekly pay is $1,670, and mileage pay is $0.61–$0.64 per mile. The role includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus. A hazmat endorsement is required within 60 days of hire; eligible drivers who obtain it after starting may be reimbursed for the cost. Steel-toe boot costs are reimbursed after one year.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- At least 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience.
- Clean driving record.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- Hazmat endorsement obtained within 60 days of hire.
- No SAP drivers.
- Must have steel-toe boots available for training.
- Must provide own transportation to and from work.
