About The Position
Local intermodal container driving position based in Avenel, New Jersey. Drivers operate routes throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania, hauling no-touch freight. The work includes a mix of drop-and-hook, live loads, live unloads, and preloaded freight. Chassis are rented from the rail provider. Estimated weekly pay is $1,300–$1,500, with mileage pay plus $55 per revenue load. Drivers work approximately 1,100 miles per week and are home daily. Night shifts are available, with starts at 3:00 PM or later. Holiday work is required as scheduled.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Tractor-trailer driving experience, including first-seat experience.
- Clean driving record.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- Must not be a SAP driver.
- Must be available for night shifts and holiday work.
Responsibilities
- Operate a tractor-trailer on local intermodal routes throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
- Handle no-touch freight using drop-and-hook, live-load, live-unload, and preloaded freight arrangements.
- Work scheduled night shifts and holidays.
