CDL A Flatbed Driver
About The Position
The CDL A Flatbed Driver delivers gas grill cylinders to AmeriGas locations using a tractor-trailer truck. The driver loads and unloads pallets of cylinders at AmeriGas district locations and the production facility. The position may involve layovers to comply with DOT hours-of-service regulations; a sleeper cab is available. Drivers are responsible for meeting delivery and repair objectives, communicate daily with the Operations Manager about work activities, and may participate in tank refurbishing to meet customer needs. The posting describes the work as local with home daily, while also noting that layovers are required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CDL with appropriate Hazmat and Tanker endorsements and a good driving record.
- No more than 3 tickets in 3 years and no accidents in the past 2 years.
- Forklift certification.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.
- Ability to bend and climb in and out of the truck.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
- Flexibility with delivery schedules and work hours as needed to serve customers.
- Willingness to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check; employment is subject to substance-abuse testing under company policies.
Nice To Haves
- CTEP certification.
- Experience in regional tractor-trailer hauling.
- Experience securing loads in both cargo-van and flatbed applications.
