Drive for a dedicated grocery account serving one retail customer. The freight is no-touch, with store deliveries using dry and refrigerated trailers and automatic trucks. Routes cover Idaho, Utah, border areas of Oregon, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and California, with approximately 2,500 to 3,000 miles per week. Each load is a round trip, and drivers are home weekly. This is a busy, fast-paced account operating 24/7, including nights, weekends, and holidays. New CDL holders can qualify through a CDL school program of at least 120 hours. Following application and a review of the applicant’s license and record, orientation lasts up to two days; hotel costs are covered, a bus ticket is reimbursed, and a $300 payment is provided after hire. Drivers then train with a mentor for four to six weeks before receiving an assigned truck. Average weekly gross pay is $1,300 to $1,500, with $650 per week during training. Additional pay includes $10 for the first stop, $15 for each subsequent stop, and an extra $20 on loads under 250 miles. Annual pay may reach $75,000.
