About The Position

Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) is seeking a dependable, safety-focused CDL-A Dump Truck Driver to support heavy civil construction operations. The role involves transporting materials to a wide variety of on-road and off-road locations, coordinating deliveries with project teams, and maintaining compliance with safety and transportation regulations. Extensive travel may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Class B or Class A CDL.
Valid DOT Medical Certificate with Non-Excepted Interstate self-certification.
Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and material-handling best practices.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Basic mechanical skills for minor truck maintenance.
Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Ability to read, understand, and navigate using paper and/or digital maps.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 years of experience operating dump trucks (preferred).

Responsibilities

Safely operate a dump truck in a manner that reduces risk and liabilities.
Ensure load weight complies with state and federal regulations.
Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to confirm they are safe and legal to operate.
Maintain accurate records of trip details, including mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance reports, and hours worked.
Communicate with project managers, equipment operators, and other team members to coordinate material transport and delivery schedules.
Adhere to Emery Sapp & Sons safety policies and procedures.
Perform basic truck maintenance when necessary.
Navigate to a variety of on-road and off-road locations using instructions, maps, or GPS.
Wear and safely use PPE.
Record hours worked using an ELD in compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
