About The Position

SYGMA is hiring a CDL A Delivery Driver to transport products from the warehouse to customer locations in a tractor-trailer and deliver and unload them according to customer invoices and company standards. Drivers operate team and single routes, typically running 2–4 routes per week, with routes lasting no longer than 36–38 hours. The position offers paid training, route pay and bonuses, and earning potential advertised at an average of $105,000 per year, with top earners making up to $150,000. Equipment is highly maintained and all tractors are automatic. Drivers are expected to provide courteous customer service, complete required paperwork, follow food-safety and DOT procedures, and maintain clean equipment. The role usually follows an overnight schedule with evening dispatch and requires flexibility for varied start times, overtime, on-call work, weekends, and holidays. Requirements

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent degree; completion of a tractor-trailer driving school may be accepted instead of or in addition to this education.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hazmat guidelines, and safe lifting and delivery practices.
Ability to drive long distances over varied terrain and in different weather conditions, including driving a tractor-trailer by day and night.
Ability to remain alert, meet or exceed company productivity standards, and handle hazardous materials and frozen, dry, and refrigerated food and restaurant products.
Ability to operate a 3-axle tractor, 45–48-foot trailer, straight truck, onboard computer, keypad, and two-wheel hand cart.
Ability to perform basic math and plan and organize work independently, solve problems, and communicate with customers.
Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports and records.
Ability to lift, push, or move products weighing up to 50 pounds by hand and push or pull up to 250 pounds of product using a two-wheeled hand cart.
Ability to climb in and out of a tractor and trailer, reach to stack and unstack pallets and hand carts, and bend and twist while loading, unloading, and retrieving items.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
One year of tractor-trailer driving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely transport products from the warehouse to customers using a tractor-trailer.
Unload products by hand or with a hand cart, using ramps, stairs, or docks, and place products in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards.
Complete and submit required paperwork accurately and on time, including DOT logs, vehicle inspections, maintenance reports, pre- and post-trip reports, invoices, and records of damages or shortages.
Follow food-safety procedures, maintain appropriate delivery-vehicle temperatures, inspect products for visible damage, prevent cross-contamination, and maintain sanitary conditions in the tractor and trailer.
Assist with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships through courteous service and clear communication.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
