About The Position

Gordon Food Service is hiring a CDL A Delivery Driver in Lafayette, Indiana. The driver delivers food products to customers such as restaurants, schools, hospitals, and universities, while building customer relationships. The role offers local routes and day shifts, with drivers home every day. Newly licensed drivers are encouraged to apply. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 5 a.m. and continuing until the route is finished. Drivers average $84,000–$90,000 per year, with a guaranteed minimum of $1,250 per week. Compensation includes daily base pay plus pay for miles driven, stops made, and cases delivered. The work involves unloading cases weighing up to 100 pounds and using a ramp and two-wheeler during the shift.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a Class A CDL at the time of hire.
Be able to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds.
Be able to lift up to 100 pounds throughout the shift.
Be able to read, write, and communicate in English to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions.
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, including testing for marijuana, and a background check.
Have a clean driving record that meets DOT and Gordon Food Service standards.
Be registered with the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent.
