CDL-A Dedicated Flatbed Driver
About The Position
Experienced flatbed drivers are needed for a dedicated account hauling stainless-steel freight originating near Calvert, Alabama. This position offers consistent customer freight with planned backhaul loads to maximize truck productivity and ensure drivers return to Alabama. Outbound loads consist of smaller stainless-steel coils and flat stainless-steel sheets, primarily live loaded and unloaded. Approximately 75% of outbound loads require tarping using provided six-foot drop tarps. Backhaul loads may include lumber, insulation, and other flatbed commodities, strategically planned to minimize empty miles and position drivers for their next dedicated load. Drivers will be assigned a newer-model Kenworth T680 tractor paired with a 2025 Extreme 48-foot flatbed trailer, equipped with 12 winches, straps, and two six-foot drop tarps. Drivers retain the same trailer throughout their trip.
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum one year OTR experience within the last five years
- Minimum six months flatbed experience
- Steel-hauling experience
- Current coil-hauling certification
- Tarping and load-securement experience
- Acceptable driving record
Responsibilities
- Haul dedicated stainless-steel freight
