CDL-A Dedicated Flatbed Driver
About The Position
Dedicated stainless-steel flatbed operation Assigned newer-model Kenworth T680 Dedicated steel freight and consistent weekend scheduling give experienced CDL-A flatbed drivers a strong combination of $2,000 to $2,100 per week, specialized freight, and home time every weekend. Planned backhaul freight helps maintain productive weekly movement while assigned equipment provides drivers with a consistent truck and trailer setup. Primary outbound loads originate near Calvert, Alabama, and include stainless-steel coils and flat stainless-steel sheets. After completing the outbound delivery, available backhaul freight moves drivers toward the next customer load rather than routinely returning trucks empty. Most freight is live loaded and live unloaded. Approximately 75% of loads require tarping. Smaller and lighter six-foot drop tarps are used for this operation. Tarp compensation is included in the account's pay program.
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license
- At least one year of OTR experience within the previous five years
- Minimum six months of flatbed experience
- Steel-hauling experience required
- Current coil-hauling certification required
- Experience with tarping and load securement required
- Must meet applicable driving-record requirements
Responsibilities
- Drive a dedicated stainless-steel flatbed truck.
- Transport stainless-steel coils and flat stainless-steel sheets.
- Perform planned backhauls.
- Live load and live unload freight.
- Tarp approximately 75% of loads using six-foot drop tarps.
- Ensure proper load securement and handling requirements associated with steel freight.
- Complete orientation before beginning the dedicated operation.
