About The Position

This is a temporary role estimated to last six months, with an anticipated January 2027 start. The position is remote within a CBP Southwest Border Sector and requires up to 50% travel to installation sites. The CBP EdgeRelay Installer sets up and installs goTenna EdgeRelays, coordinating with CBP personnel at Sectors and Stations and arranging equipment shipping and receipt. The role reports to the Customer Experience (CX) Team. The installer serves as the subject matter expert for EdgeRelay deployment, including site-access coordination, equipment setup and physical installation, tuning, post-installation functional testing, and troubleshooting. The position also involves inspecting, updating, validating, deploying, and maintaining existing EdgeRelays; documenting use cases, issues, and opportunities; and supporting customers with virtual and onsite troubleshooting. The installer participates in onboarding and periodic product and network training, logistics planning, and refinement of installation processes, while ensuring regulatory compliance. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to receive a successful CBP Background Investigation.
Located in or near a CBP sector.
Experience with Microsoft Office products.
Ability to commute to Station installation sites within the assigned region.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Ability to walk distances up to 0.5 miles over moderate terrain, including rocky footing and hills.
Ability to work outdoors in the temperatures and UV conditions expected along the southern border.
Ability to travel to installation sites, up to 50%.
Ability to participate in onboarding, periodic training, and logistics planning meetings.

Nice To Haves

Professional experience working directly with CBP.
Hands-on experience using and/or installing tactical radios and related equipment.
Experience using goTenna equipment.

Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert for EdgeRelay deployment.
Coordinate site access and required personnel, including escorts and/or tower climbers as needed.
Unbox and perform initial setup of EdgeRelays.
Physically install EdgeRelays, then tune and test their functions.
Troubleshoot issues related to EdgeRelay installation and deployment processes.
Inspect, update, and validate existing EdgeRelays.
Participate in EdgeRelay deployment and maintenance for CBP.
Coordinate logistics for shipping and receipt of required equipment.
Participate in logistics planning meetings before assigned or related deployments.
Coordinate with CBP and CX to update and refine installation planning and execution to meet customer operational needs.
Document current use cases, issues, and opportunities.
Work with CX and other departments, including Product Management and Engineering, to troubleshoot technical issues related to the CBP EdgeRelay or SIC network.
Conduct virtual and onsite customer troubleshooting.
Participate in preliminary onboarding and periodic training updates regarding relevant hardware, software plug-ins, deployability, documentation, and processes.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Perform other related duties as required.
