About The Position

As an Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience while contributing to meaningful projects that make a real difference. You won’t just observe—you’ll actively participate, learn from experienced mentors, and see how your work helps move the team forward. You will undertake a variety of assignments and projects in support of program efforts.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program in Public Health, Education, Family and Child Studies, Human Development, or a similar field.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take initiative.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic proficiency in relevant tools or software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and take initiative on tasks.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and adapting in a professional environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Must be willing to complete all job-related travel associated with this position.
  • Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Provide staff support for the Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Action Committee by working with staff and partners to recruit new members, planning agendas and collaborating on activities and events.
  • Provide staff support in the planning and execution of the statewide campaign for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
  • Provide staff support in preparing for annual quality assurance site visits, reporting, and evaluation efforts.
  • Provide staff support in the coordination efforts of the Oklahoma Family Support Network and ongoing special projects.
  • Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
  • Works effectively in team environment, participating and assisting their peers.
